OVERVIEW
In 2021, I was entrusted with leading the design of the Enumeration Dashboard, a tool aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of data management for enumeration activities. This project was particularly important as it sought to address several challenges in the field of data collection, verification, and analysis for large-scale enumeration projects. These challenges included manual data handling, inaccurate field data, delays in reporting, and the complexity of aggregating data from multiple sources.
The Enumeration Dashboard was designed to streamline the collection of data from field activities and provide project managers and field agents with a user-friendly platform to interact with data, improve reporting processes, and validate the accuracy of information in real time. The tool's functionalities included remote access, map-based verification, personnel registration, dataset querying, project monitoring, role management, and integration with ArcGIS online accounts for data streaming and visualization.

Approach
I started the UX research approach by conducting a thorough secondary research phase. This involved delving into the user feedback landscape to identify the pain points and challenges faced by our target users. I analyzed existing user reviews, forums, and feedback channels to gain insights into the common issues and frustrations experienced while managing field-acquired data and utilizing mapping tools.

Next, I conducted user interviews and surveys to gather firsthand information from individuals who directly interact with similar data management and mapping platforms. These interviews focused on understanding their workflow, pain points, areas of improvement, and desired features in such tools. Additionally, I observed users in real-time scenarios to gain deeper insights into their interactions and challenges faced during data collection, verification, and analysis processes.
Simultaneously, I conducted a competitive analysis to benchmark the platform against existing solutions in the market. This involved evaluating the features, usability, and user satisfaction levels of competitor tools to identify areas where we could differentiate ourselves and address unmet user needs.
Key Features and Functionalities
Personnel Registration
The dashboard allowed for the independent or batch registration of field mappers, analysts, and project managers. This streamlined the onboarding process and ensured that all relevant personnel had access to the necessary data and tools.

Remote Data Access and Dataset Querying and Comparison
The Enumeration Dashboard allowed all field data collectors to access datasets remotely, eliminating the need for physical data transfers and ensuring real-time data availability. Users could query, sort, and compare datasets using a tabulated view within the dashboard. This feature facilitated data analysis and decision-making processes by providing structured and organized data views.

Map-Based Verification
This functionality revolutionized the way data was verified and validated, especially in the context of field-acquired data related to enumeration activities.
How It Works
The map-based verification system allowed users to visually inspect and verify data points directly on a map interface. Field data collected by data collectors could be plotted onto the map, providing a geographical context to the information. Users could then zoom in, pan across the map, and interact with data points to verify their accuracy and relevance.

Adoption by Organizations:
The Enumeration Dashboard has been successfully adopted by several prominent organizations, showcasing its versatility and effectiveness across different sectors:
Nigeria Population Commission (NPC): Utilized for real-time tracking of data and leveraged Geographical Information System (GIS) during the 2023 election, improving census quality through digital mapping techniques.
World Bank: Used to map all buildings and businesses in Edo state, Nigeria, enhancing tax collection efforts through better data management.

Littleseed Concept Limited in partnership with CBM and Comic Relief United Kingdom: Employed for collecting data on mental health conditions in three different states in Nigeria, demonstrating its utility in healthcare data management and analysis.
